PESHAWAR : Following the directives issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), 19 members of the provincial interim cabinet submitted their resignations to Azam Khan, the interim Chief Minister on Thursday.
In response to a communication from Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, the PTI KP chief, and endorsed by 52 former Members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs), the ECP had instructed the caretaker chief minister last month to promptly relieve ministers, advisers, and special assistants engaged in political activities.
The main objective of this measure was to ensure an equitable and impartial electoral process in the province before the forthcoming general elections.
