Two killed, six injured in attack on a political party’s vehicle

PESHAWAR:

Two people killed while six others injured in an IED attack on vehicle of Awami National Party (ANP) in Bajaur tribal district on Sunday.

Initial reports claim that a remote controlled bomb has exploded on a vehicle of Awami National Party (ANP) supporters in Mamond Kamarsar area of ​​Bajaur district that resulted in killing of Liaquat Khan and Muhammad Rehman while six injured.

However, other reports pouring in from different sources claim that it was a suicide attack. The injured include Omar Khan, Younis Khan, Zaid Ahmed, Mashooq, Imran, Saeed who have been shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Khar for immediate treatment. The bodies have been shifted to their native areas.

According to Bajaur District Police Office officials the blast occurred near the Pak-Afghan border in Sur Qamar area within Laghrey police station’s limits. The officials dispelled the notion that the incident took place near a polling station where local government elections are underway.

The police and law enforcement personnel arrived at the scene following the blast. Security forces and police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.

Mohsin bags another int’l shooting medal for Pakistan

Pakistani shooter Mohsin Nawaz have won a bronze medal in South Africa Open Championship 2021. Mohsin won this 900m 2nd long range international medal for Pakistan after National Rifle Association championship 2018.

Mohsin Nawaz, of Pakistan is not only a National asset of the country but his efforts and achievements are clearly defined by his wins. His determination and challenging practices has hit an accuracy of projectiles making him the National Champion for 25 times.

His skills and expertise are clearly evident as he won a gold medal in the National Rifle Association (NRA) US Nationals in long range shooting in 2018.

Recently in 2021, he bagged a bronze in the South Africa F class Open Championship with 600 participants from all over the world which clearly is a proud moment for the nation. Mohsin Nawaz is the first Pakistani to bag medals in the international competitions held in South Africa and the USA and now he is preparing for the world championship being held in 2023.
