Consultative Session for AIP Phase -II, North Waziristan held

To apprise the local representatives of the merged districts and listen to public suggestions and grievances Consultative Session for AIP Phase –II session was held in Mir Ali jirga hall which was attended by elders of Tehsil Mir Ali, ulema, youth and members of welfare organisations.
DC North Waziristan on the occasion briefed the participants about FATA merger and development activities carried out in AIP phase-1 in North Waziristan.

During the sessions different issues including lack of staff in hospital and schools, provision of the internet facility, construction of girls school , compensation for left out affectees of operation, construction of bypass from Mirali Bazar to Khajoori were discussed.
The provision of drinking water and repairing of solar systems installed at drinking water sites also demanded by the participants. Deputy director P&D Dir, Babar Jan, Waqar (CM Office), Shahid Ali Khan, DC NWD, Shahid Rafiq, AC Mir Ali, Jadoon Khan, EDO, Hafeez Ullah, DHO, Daulat Khan, ADC, Abdul Rehman, AD Livestock, Ihsan Ullah, DFO, Sila Mir Khan, AD Agriculture, Kabul Jan, President YOW besides Elders/Malikans of Tehsil Mir Ali also participated in the session.


Participants appreciated the efforts of provincial govt in Phase-1 of AIP and recommended the schemes to be executed in phase-II.

Over 90 stranded Pakistani students set to be evacuated from Ukraine

Over 90 Pakistani students are being evacuated from Ukraine amid ongoing Russian-Ukraine conflict.  The Pakistan’s embassy in Ukraine on Saturday said it has received 23 more Pakistani students in addition to 70 earlier, who are now set to be evacuated from the country and move to Poland amid the ongoing Russian invasion. The embassy said the students were received at the facilitation desk in the city of Lviv and came from different cities of Ukraine, including the capital, Kyiv. It added they would be transported to the Polish border through transport arranged by the embassy.

In an earlier update today, the embassy said it had managed to evacuate 70 students from Kharkiv city.

Security forces kill terrorist in North Waziristan operation: ISPR

A terrorist was killed during an operation conducted by the security forces in North Waziristan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Saturday.

According to the military’s media wing, security forces had launched the operation in Spinwam area of district after receiving reports related to the presence of terrorists in the area.

During the operation, the security forces and the terrorist got involved in an intense exchange of fire that led to the killing of the miscreant. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorist, the statement said. The slain terrorist were involved in terrorist activities against security forces, it added.

The locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the area.
