The entire nation pays homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country. Naib Subedar Taj Mir Shaheed is one such brave son of the soil who sacrificed his life while fighting the terrorists gallantly in Lakki Marwat in April this year.

On April 27, 2023, an exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists took place during which three terrorists including a terrorist commander Musa Khan were killed.

However, during an intense exchange of fire, Naib Subedar Taj Mir, 40, a resident of District Nowshera embraced shahadat.

Naib Subidar Taj Mir Shaheed was a very fearless person who embraced martyrdom for the sake of his country.

Naib Subedar Taj Mir Shaheed left behind a widow, one son and three daughters.

Former and the first-ever female Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court (PHC), Justice Mussarat Hilali is now the second female judge in Pakistan’s history to be elevated to the Supreme Court.

Born in Peshawar on August 8, 1961, Justice Hilali received a law degree from Khyber Law College, Peshawar University and enrolled as an Advocate of District Courts in 1983, then as an Advocate of the High Court in 1988 and as an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 2006.

Being a female, she had several achievements in her career: She was the first female elected office-bearer in the post of secretary at the bar from 1988-1989; Vice president at the bar (twice) from 1992 to 1994; General Secretary from 1997 till 1998. She was the first female twice elected as an executive member of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) from 2007-2008 and 2008-2009.

She was also the first female Additional Advocate General of KP from November 2001 to March 2004 and was later appointed as the first female Chairperson of the KP Environmental Protection Tribunal.

Justice Hilali has also served as the first female ombudsperson for protection against the harassment of women in the workplace.

She was elevated to the bench as an additional judge on March 26, 2013, and confirmed as a permanent judge of the Peshawar High Court on March 13, 2014.

Hailing from Peshawar, Haleema Ghayoor is the first professional cyclist from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She has won six gold, eight silver and seven bronze medals.

She started taking part in cycle races at a very young age and finally becomes the first professional cyclist from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Since then, Haleema has won gold medals in the National Junior Race and Road Cycling Championships. Earlier she won her first bronze medal in Lahore for Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Cycling Team and later she participated in the national Track and road cycling championship where she became the national Junior Champion of Pakistan with three gold medals and one silver medal.

She was also selected for training at the World Cycling Center Korea Satellite in 2018.

Haleema hopes other girls will follow in her footstep and take up cycling as well.
