Ex-COAS’s comments on Pakistan’s warfare ability quoted out of context: ISPR

The Inter-Services Public Relations said on Friday that discussion in the media regarding Pakistan Army’s combat worthiness and the former army chief’s views to this end on the “future threat to Pakistan” have been “quoted out of context”.

The statement says “Recently, there have been discussions in media on Pakistan Army’s combat worthiness in view of the condition of certain weapon systems on its inventory. To this end, views of former army chief on future threat to Pakistan, which he shared with media persons in an off the record interactive session, have been quoted out of the context.”

Army assures the people of Pakistan that we always took and will continue to take pride in our operational preparedness and utmost combat worthiness. Pakistan’s Armed Forces always did and will continue to keep their weapons, equipment and battle hardened human resource ever ready for the defence of motherland. -ISPR

Security forces repulse three terror attacks, 3 troops martyred, 7 terrorists killed

Rawalpindi: Security Forces, while fighting gallantly, repulsed three attacks by terrorists on different locations within a span of short time in Lakki Marwat District.

Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a press released says that a Motorcycle borne Suicide bomber exploded himself near security forces post in Lakki Marwat followed by a fierce fire exchange between own troops and terrorists.
Own troops effectively engaged the terrorists as a result of which four terrorists were killed.
In two other encounters with terrorists in general area Amir Kalam and Tajbi Khel, District Lakki Marwat,  three more terrorists, including terrorist commander Musa Khan, were eliminated. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the seven killed terrorists.
However, during intense exchange of fire, Naib Subedar Taj Mir (age 40 years, resident of District Nowshera), Havaldar Zakir Ahmed (age 38 years, resident of District Abbottabad) and Sepoy Abid Hussain (age 29 years, resident of District DI Khan) having fought gallantly, embraced shahadat.
Sanitization of the areas is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.
