Peshawar: Important agreement between police and NADRA

Peshawar: Important agreement between police and NADRA

An important agreement has been signed between the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Department and the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) at the Central Police Office in Peshawar. The agreement was signed by DIG Finance & Procurement Fida Hassan on behalf of the Police Department and Muhammad Irfan Anwar, Head of NADRA’s e-Service Center.

The event was also attended by NADRA CEO Mohammad Omar Khan Azad and Deputy Director of e-Services Malik Yaseen Ali.

Under this agreement, the public will no longer need to visit separate NADRA offices for identity card verification. Instead, this service will now be available directly at police service centers. This initiative aims to make public services more accessible and convenient.

As per the agreement, the following services will initially include identity verification:

  • Police Clearance Certificate

  • Overseas Clearance Certificate

  • Visa Clearance Certificate

  • Domestic Workers’ Police Character Certificate

  • Police Tenancy Registration

  • Other related services

Previously, these services required separate verification at NADRA offices, resulting in time wastage. Now, identity card verification will be conducted on-site at police service centers, with a nominal fee of 120 rupees per verification, which is part of the prescribed government service charges.

According to the vision of Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hamid, the aim is to improve public services and integrate them with modern technology. There are also plans to further simplify these services through a mobile application in the future.

IGP Zulfiqar Hamid stated that the primary goal is to resolve public issues in the shortest possible time through modern technology and to strengthen public trust in the police. This agreement is seen as a practical realization of that vision.
