Peshawar: Christian Community in Saddar Cantonment Celebrates Easter Under Leadership of Bishop Humphrey Sarfraz Peters

The Christian community in Peshawar’s Saddar Cantonment celebrated Easter with religious zeal and enthusiasm. Families, elders, youth, women, and children participated in large numbers to mark the occasion.

Children holding lit candles took part in a special Easter walk, adding to the spiritual ambiance of the event. The atmosphere echoed with joy and celebration as traditional bands played festive music throughout the procession.

The event was led by Bishop Humphrey Sarfraz Peters, who addressed the gathering and highlighted the freedom of religion in Pakistan. He stated:
“Pakistan is our garden, and we are like flowers blooming within it.”
He expressed gratitude for the peaceful environment that allows minorities to celebrate their religious festivals freely, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Strict security measures were in place to ensure the safety of the participants, with a large deployment of police personnel across the Saddar area.
