MARDAN – A Korean delegation recently visited the historic Jamal Garhi ruins in District Mardan. This site holds national heritage status and is a significant point of interest for foreign tourists.
During the delegation’s visit, DSP Katlang Izhar Shah and SHO Jabr, along with a police team, were present on-site. Strict security arrangements were made by the police to provide a safe and peaceful environment for the delegation.
Under the directives of DPO Mardan, Zahoor Babar Afridi, the police effectively fulfilled all security responsibilities by maintaining a strong presence at the location.
UET Bannu Students Visit Bannu Cantt, Express Solidarity with Security Forces
BANNU – Students from the Bannu Campus of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar recently undertook an educational visit to Bannu Cantt. They were warmly welcomed by the local Brigade Commander, Brigadier Naveed Ahmed, and other senior military officials.
During the visit, the students were shown the Martyrs’ Memorial (Yadgar-e-Shuhada), a museum, and other significant historical sites. The tour aimed to familiarize them with national history and the sacrifices made for the country.
The students congratulated the Pakistan Army on the success of “Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsoos” against India and expressed their commitment to stand alongside the security institutions for the safety and defense of the nation.
Orakzai Youth Host Impactful Seminar on Education, Empowerment, and Unity
ORAKZAI – A thought-provoking youth seminar, spearheaded by Arslan Arif, President of Youth of Orakzai, was held on May 15, 2025, drawing enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and local youth.
The seminar featured engaging discussions on critical topics, including: breaking the cycle of poverty through education for individuals and communities; smart hustles focusing on legal avenues for earning and thriving; transitioning from survival to success by building a future with available resources; leveraging digital skills as new tools of power; and fostering national harmony against common adversaries.
Young participants passionately shared their concerns and proposed solutions for the socio-economic development of Orakzai.
The event was graced by the presence of the Commandant Orakzai Scouts, Additional Assistant Commissioner Orakzai, and SP Investigation Orakzai. They addressed the youth, appreciated their voices, and emphasized the importance of unity and progress.
Special gratitude was extended to the Commandant Orakzai Scouts for facilitating the grand event and delivering an inspiring address to the youth assembly.
The Commandant Orakzai Scouts delivered the concluding remarks, presented a souvenir to Mr. Arslan Arif, President of Youth of Orakzai, and awarded shields and certificates to outstanding students and participants.

Chitral marks milestone with grand inauguration of Govt Polytechnic Institute
CHITRAL – A significant step towards providing technical education to the youth of Chitral was taken with the grand inaugural ceremony of the “Government Polytechnic Institute,” adjacent to the Government Technical Center Boys Chitral. The prestigious event saw the participation of representatives from academic, technical, administrative, and social circles, alongside a large number of distinguished guests and local dignitaries.
Renowned educator and literary figure, Abdul Wakil Soz Kathana, skillfully served as the stage secretary for the ceremony. The chief guest for the occasion was Mr. Tufail Anjum, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Technical Education, while Mr. Malik Mansoor Qaiser, Managing Director of KP-TEVTA, presided over the event.
The special guests officially inaugurated the institute, terming it a milestone and a guarantee of a bright future for the youth of Chitral. Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Professor Sahibuddin, Principal of Government Commerce College Chitral, stated that this institute marks the beginning of a new era for Chitral in the field of technical education, which will empower youth with skills and create better employment opportunities for them.
Mr. Mohsin Iqbal, Deputy Commissioner Chitral Lower, also addressed the gathering, highlighting the utility of the institute and its potential socio-economic impact, calling it a commendable step towards regional development.
Mr. Khalid Usman Wazir, Director Works and P&D, provided a briefing on the technical details of the project, attributing its timely completion to the tireless efforts of engineers and workers.
In his address, the institute’s Principal, Mr. Rahmat Karim, expressed gratitude to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, KP-TEVTA, and all officials of FF Construction Company, stating that their relentless efforts turned this dream into reality. His own role was also pivotal in the project’s success.
All speakers emphasized that the Government Polytechnic Institute Chitral will not only equip youth with modern technical skills but also provide them with an opportunity to join the mainstream of national development. The local populace hailed the establishment of this institute as a major educational advancement.
Pakistan Announces Nationwide “Youm-e-Tashakkur” Day on Friday, May 16th
Pakistan will observe “Youm-e-Tashakkur” (Day of Thanksgiving) across the country on Friday, May 16th, to commemorate a historic victory in the “battle of righteousness.” The day will be marked by expressions of gratitude and tributes to the Pakistani public and the armed forces.
The day’s proceedings will commence with Quran Khwani (recitation of the Holy Quran) and special prayers in mosques nationwide. A 31-gun salute will be presented in the federal capital, Islamabad, while provincial capitals will witness a 21-gun salute to mark the occasion.
Significant ceremonial events will include change of guard ceremonies at the mausoleums of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi and Allama Muhammad Iqbal in Lahore. Furthermore, floral wreaths will be laid at martyrs’ memorials across the country, accompanied by prayer ceremonies to honor their sacrifices.
The main event commemorating “Youm-e-Tashakkur” is scheduled to be held in Islamabad on the evening of May 16th.
