Colorful Kailash Festival ‘Chilam Joshi’ concludes amid global tourist interest

The ancient and vibrant three-day religious and cultural festival of the Kailash tribe, Chilam Joshi, concluded with traditional fanfare and devotion in the Kailash Valley. Celebrated from May 13 to May 17, 2025, across the three valleys of Rumbur, Bumburet, and Birir, the festival has become a symbol of Kailash heritage, joy, harmony, and a deep connection with nature.

The festival began with customary rituals in the Rumbur Valley and ended with a grand closing ceremony in the scenic Birir Valley. Over 170 international tourists attended the festival, representing countries including France, Germany, the USA, Australia, Italy, Switzerland, Russia, Japan, China, Greece, Taiwan, South Korea, the UK, Netherlands, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Romania.

Special security arrangements were made by both the local police and Frontier Corps North to ensure the safety of all participants. Tourists expressed their admiration for the valley’s breathtaking beauty and described the Chilam Joshi Festival as an unforgettable cultural experience.

A significant tribal Jirga was held in Wana to commemorate the successful completion of Operation Baniyan Marsous. The gathering was attended by local commanders and tribal elders who offered Fateha for the martyrs and paid rich tributes to their sacrifices.

Key discussions during the Jirga emphasized the peaceful resolution of longstanding land disputes in the regions of Gurgore and Ghandak. Tribal elders were urged to play a constructive role in ensuring harmony.

The Maliks and elders expressed complete confidence in the alliance between the tribal population and the security forces, appreciating the operation’s outcomes. The event also saw participation from scholars and youth leaders, who reaffirmed their commitment to supporting peace, development, and acknowledging the military’s role in safeguarding the region.

KP University Students visited FC North Headquarters at Qila Bala Hisar

Peshawar:
A delegation of male and female students from various universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa visited the Frontier Corps North Headquarters at Qila Bala Hisar. Upon arrival, the students laid floral wreaths at the Martyrs’ Monument and offered prayers for the souls of the fallen heroes of Pakistan.

During their visit, the students lauded the armed forces of Pakistan for their resolute response during the historic battle against India and in Operation Baniyan Marsous. In a special session with the Inspector General Frontier Corps (IGFC), the students appreciated the efforts of FC North in maintaining law and order and contributing to public welfare.

At the conclusion of the visit, students pledged to stand united against terrorism, just as the people and armed forces of Pakistan had previously united to defeat external aggression.
