Drug Rehabilitation Program Launched in Mohmand

On June 26, a special rehabilitation initiative was launched in Mohmand on the International Day Against Drug Abuse. Under the DC’s directive, 18 drug addicts were transferred to rehabilitation centers with the support of Haq Awaz Foundation and the Social Welfare Department.

Families welcomed the move, calling it a ray of hope. The administration reaffirmed its commitment to continue such efforts under a zero-tolerance drug policy.

During a seminar on Pakistan-Afghanistan relations in Peshawar, Afghan Consul General Mohibullah emphasized that the first bond between both nations is Islam. He acknowledged Pakistan’s support during the Soviet invasion and blamed the U.S. for failing to provide hospitals and infrastructure during its 20-year stay in Afghanistan.

He called for cooperation based on Islamic brotherhood and mutual respect.

A grand mass wedding ceremony was held today at Hangu CUST Campus, where 53 couples tied the knot. The event was graced by DC Hangu Gohar Zaman, AC Asfandyar, and Zakat Chairman Ibrahim Bangash.

The DC distributed cheques worth PKR 200,000 to each bride to support the beginning of their married life. The event was seen as a symbol of social unity and a strong step toward helping underprivileged families.

Grand Jirga Held in Orakzai Ahead of Muharram

In Orakzai, a grand jirga was organized under the Frontier Corps KP (North) to ensure peace during Muharram. Over 80 community elders, both Sunni and Shia, attended the gathering alongside the Commandant of Orakzai Scouts, Commissioner Kohat, RPO, DC, and DPO.

The message of unity — “We are One” — from the Commandant was widely appreciated. Commissioner Kohat also urged the public to maintain harmony. Tribal elders thanked the Pakistan Army for its role in maintaining peace in the region.

The event concluded with loud chants of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Pak Army Zindabad.”

Summer Camp Underway in Peshawar Under Pakistan Army’s Supervision

A summer camp under the supervision of ISPR is currently ongoing in Peshawar, which began on June 23. Students from Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, and Badaber are actively participating in the camp. They enthusiastically took part in a sports and firing gala organized by the Pakistan Army, showcasing both mental and physical skills.

Students engaged in archery, tug of war, badminton, and airgun shooting competitions. The chief guest distributed medals and prizes to high achievers. Teachers and parents hailed the camp as a meaningful initiative for character building and youth engagement.
