Street Child World Cup Top Scorer Kashif Shinwari Returns Home

Khyber: Young footballer Kashif Shinwari from Landi Kotal in Khyber district has returned home after delivering an outstanding performance at the Street Child World Cup 2026 held in Mexico.

The Pakistan Street Child Football Team concluded its impressive international campaign by securing third position in the tournament, while team captain Muhammad Kashif Shinwari emerged as the tournament’s top scorer with 17 goals, winning the prestigious “Top Goal Scorer Award”.

In the semifinal, Pakistan faced Brazil and displayed remarkable spirit, teamwork, and determination. However, the team narrowly lost 2-1 after a tough contest. Brazil later defeated India in the final to win the Street Child World Cup title.

Notably, another football star from Landi Kotal, Tufail Shinwari, had previously achieved the same distinction, highlighting the growing football talent emerging from the region.

Pakistan’s inspiring journey in the tournament has been widely appreciated across the country, serving as a powerful example of hope, empowerment, and resilience. The team’s success demonstrated that children from disadvantaged backgrounds can excel on the global stage if provided with opportunities, facilities, and encouragement.

Rescue 1122 KP Launched Ambulance Service for Transportation of Dead Bodies from Airport

Peshawar: Rescue 1122 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has officially launched a free ambulance service for transporting mortal remains arriving from abroad from Bacha Khan International Airport to any district across the province.

The service was inaugurated by Provincial Minister for Relief Aqibullah Khan, who said overseas Pakistanis are a valuable asset to the country and supporting their families during difficult times is the government’s responsibility.

Speaking at the ceremony, the minister said facilitating bereaved families is a humanitarian duty and part of the government’s welfare-oriented initiatives. He added that the free transportation service would help reduce the financial burden on affected families.

Aqibullah Khan stated that Rescue 1122 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has evolved into an effective institution capable of delivering prompt and quality emergency services. He assured that mortal remains arriving from abroad would be transported free of cost with complete dignity and respect.

He further announced that six dedicated ambulances would remain available round the clock for the service, while a special Rescue 1122 help desk and counter had also been established at Bacha Khan International Airport.

The minister said citizens could contact 1122, the Rescue Help Desk, or the Provincial Monitoring Cell for assistance regarding the transportation service. He termed the initiative a practical demonstration of the government’s commitment to welfare, trust, and support for overseas Pakistanis.
