Shakai Wolves Crowned Cricket Champions at Waziristan Peace Festival 2026

Wana: The first final of the third and final phase of the Waziristan Peace Festival 2026, with Shakai Wolves defeating Jandola Stars to win the cricket championship organized by Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (South) concluded.

The final was played at Wana Scouts Stadium, where both teams displayed impressive cricket, outstanding sportsmanship, and a strong competitive spirit. After an exciting contest, Shakai Wolves emerged victorious to lift the tournament trophy.

A large number of cricket enthusiasts attended the final, cheering passionately for their respective teams and creating a vibrant atmosphere throughout the match.

According to the organizers, the Waziristan Peace Festival 2026 aims to promote youth talent, encourage healthy sporting activities, and strengthen the values of peace, brotherhood, social harmony, and national unity. The initiative by Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (South) is being regarded as a significant effort to engage young people in positive and constructive activities.

KP Government Provides Basic Facilities to 117 Minority Places of Worship

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has distributed essential facilities to 117 minority places of worship across the province as part of an initiative to improve amenities for religious communities.

Provincial Minister Muhammad Adnan Qadri attended the distribution ceremony for Auqaf and Religious Affairs, along with Secretary Auqaf Attaur Rahman and representatives of various minority religious communities.

According to officials, a total of 1,122 development items were provided under the initiative, including 30 electric water coolers, 25 sound systems, 1,000 steel chairs, 37 large cooking pots, one generator, and several other essential items.

Addressing the ceremony, Minister Muhammad Adnan Qadri said the initiative marked an important step toward ensuring better facilities for minority communities to perform their religious activities. He added that the provision of these facilities would make the organization of religious gatherings more convenient.

The minister further announced that facilities for 18 minority places of worship in the merged districts had also been approved. He noted that the provincial government had previously provided similar assistance to 85 places of worship and was now planning to introduce a laptop scheme for talented students belonging to minority communities.

Secretary Auqaf Attaur Rahman said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was leading the country in providing services to minority communities. He added that the facilities had been supplied according to the specific needs of each place of worship.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the provincial minister formally handed over the equipment and facilities to representatives of Gurdwaras, churches, and temples.
