Governor KP Faisal Karim Kundi Addresses Security Challenges at IRS Islamabad Seminar

Islamabad: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi attended a seminar on security challenges as the chief guest at the Institute of Regional Studies (IRS), Islamabad. The event was attended by IRS President Ambassador Johar Saleem, diplomats, scholars, researchers, students, and media representatives.

Addressing the seminar, Governor Kundi reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peace and stability through strategic reforms. He highlighted Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s pivotal role in combating extremism and terrorism, praising the resilience and bravery of its people.

Governor Kundi emphasized that instability in Afghanistan directly affects Pakistan’s security, as cross-border movement of non-state actors contributes to terrorism and smuggling. He stressed that economic growth, good governance, and social development are essential in countering extremism.

He further noted that achieving stability requires promoting special economic zones, trade corridors, skill development, education, interfaith harmony, and social cohesion. He also warned against propaganda targeting national security institutions, extremist financing, cyber threats, and attacks on infrastructure, calling them conspiracies against the country’s sovereignty.

To eradicate extremism and terrorism, Governor Kundi urged all political parties to work together, emphasizing that national unity is crucial for long-term stability and security.
