ISLAMABAD – Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir delivered a passionate and unifying speech at the First Overseas Pakistanis Convention, declaring that overseas Pakistanis are not a brain drain but a ‘brain gain’ for the country.
“I am deeply moved by the emotions of Pakistanis living abroad. Let me assure you, our emotions for you are even stronger,” said the Army Chief.
He called the diaspora ambassadors and radiant reflections of Pakistan, stating that they symbolize hope and excellence across the globe.
Gen. Munir rejected the narrative that a handful of terrorists could decide the fate of Pakistan, declaring:
“Even ten generations of terrorists cannot destabilize Balochistan or Pakistan. Balochistan is the crown jewel of our nation.”
He emphasized that as long as the valiant people of Pakistan stand with their army, no challenge is insurmountable. He urged gratitude for Pakistan’s abundant resources and declared:
“Together, we send a clear message—any obstacle in Pakistan’s path to progress will be removed, collectively.”
The Army Chief reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering stance on Kashmir, calling it the jugular vein of the nation. He also expressed solidarity with the people of Gaza.
“As Pakistanis and Muslims, we do not fear adversity. We have never bowed before hardships, and we never will.”
He praised the martyrs of the nation, saying their sacrifices are eternal and shall always be honored.
Ending on an inspiring note, he reminded overseas Pakistanis:
“Wherever you are, remember—your roots are in a society built on a noble ideology, civilization, and legacy.”
The speech concluded with a resounding chant of “Pakistan Zindabad” by Gen. Munir and the audience.
