Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, officially inaugurated the province’s latest digital initiative, “Khyber Pass”, aimed at revolutionising the delivery of public services. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Science and Information Technology, Dr. Shafqat Ayaz, provincial ministers, senior government officials, technology experts, representatives from development agencies, and members of the media.
The platform has been developed under the vision of Chairman Imran Khan and Chief Minister Gandapur and was led by Dr. Shafqat Ayaz through the KP IT Board. The goal is to provide transparent, dignified, and easily accessible public services across the province.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Minister Gandapur said that Khyber Pass is a transformative step towards digital governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “In line with Imran Khan’s vision, we are digitizing every sector to restore the people’s trust in government,” he stated.
Special Assistant Dr. Shafqat Ayaz emphasized that Khyber Pass is not just a technology but a mindset — a vision that promotes dignity, convenience, and equality for every citizen. Through a QR code linked with their national ID card, citizens will now be able to access multiple public services directly on their mobile phones.
These services include applying for domicile certificates, permits, Zakat, and other government assistance schemes. The “Khyber Pass” platform has been integrated with the province’s existing “Dastak” door-to-door service delivery and “Paymer” digital payment system, creating a unified public service infrastructure.
The platform has been designed with a strong focus on accessibility for women, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and residents of remote areas. To further enhance service reach, Citizen Facilitation Centers are also being launched in Bannu and Abbottabad.
“Khyber Pass” marks the beginning of a new era of digital governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa — providing fast, dignified, and transparent services to the people, and laying the foundation for a smarter and more efficient provincial government.
