Masood Khan Sets World Record with 800km Non-Stop Run from Peshawar to Skardu
Peshawar: Pakistani endurance athlete Masood Khan has set a world record by successfully completing an approximately 800-kilometre non-stop run from Peshawar to Skardu.
Masood Khan completed the long and challenging route without stopping, passing through the rugged mountainous terrain of the Karakoram Highway, the scenic stretches along the Indus River, and the valleys of Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to the athlete, he completed the 810-kilometre challenge within nine days despite extreme physical and environmental difficulties, calling it a unique and first-of-its-kind achievement.
Speaking after completing the challenge, Masood Khan said he had brought pride to Pakistan on the global stage. He stated that although exhaustion and continuous running made the journey extremely difficult, he never lost courage for the sake of his country and nation.
He added that achieving the 800-kilometre target was a moment of pride not only for him but for the entire country.
Masood Khan has previously competed against athletes from several countries, including Russia, Japan, and China, winning numerous medals in endurance competitions held in Pakistan.
Sports circles have described the achievement as a significant milestone in highlighting the talent of Pakistani youth and promoting a positive image of the country internationally.
