Wana: The Waziristan Peace Festival 2026, being organized by the Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (South), will be held from June 12 to July 10 across 23 locations in South Waziristan, featuring a wide range of sporting and cultural activities.
According to organizers, the festival aims to engage youth in positive pursuits, showcase local talent, and strengthen peace, social cohesion, and community harmony in the region.
The month-long event will feature cricket, football, and volleyball tournaments, with teams from different parts of Waziristan competing in the contests. The competitions are expected to provide young athletes with opportunities to demonstrate their skills and participate in a healthy and competitive environment.
Organizers emphasized that the youth of Waziristan are talented and empowered, describing them as key stakeholders in the country’s future. The festival is expected to channel youthful energy toward constructive activities while promoting teamwork, discipline, and national unity.
In addition to sports, the festival will showcase cultural events, including the traditional Attan dance, a symbol of Waziristan’s rich cultural heritage and identity. Colorful fireworks displays will also be organized to enhance the festive atmosphere.
