Minorities’ Role in National Development Is Vital: Governor KP

ISLAMABAD: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has said that minorities are equal citizens of Pakistan and play a vital role in the country’s development and prosperity.

Addressing a ceremony held at Parliament House in Islamabad to mark National Minorities Day, Faisal Karim Kundi said that National Minorities Day provided an opportunity to reaffirm the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the principles of equality, freedom, human dignity and inclusion enshrined in the Constitution of Pakistan.

Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Senator Dinesh Kumar, Senator Maulana Atta-ur-Rehman, former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Minister of State for Religious Affairs Khel Das Kohistani, and Senators Tahir Khalil Sindhu, Bushra Anjum Butt, Faisal Saleem Rehman, Shahadat Awan, Nasir Butt and Kamran Murtaza attended the ceremony.

Members of Parliament, including Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani, members of the Parliamentary Minorities Caucus, senators, members of the National Assembly and senior officials of the Senate Secretariat also participated in the event.
