The ancient and vibrant three-day religious and cultural festival of the Kailash tribe, Chilam Joshi, concluded with traditional fanfare and devotion in the Kailash Valley. Celebrated from May 13 to May 17, 2025, across the three valleys of Rumbur, Bumburet, and Birir, the festival has become a symbol of Kailash heritage, joy, harmony, and a deep connection with nature.
The festival began with customary rituals in the Rumbur Valley and ended with a grand closing ceremony in the scenic Birir Valley. Over 170 international tourists attended the festival, representing countries including France, Germany, the USA, Australia, Italy, Switzerland, Russia, Japan, China, Greece, Taiwan, South Korea, the UK, Netherlands, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Romania.
Special security arrangements were made by both the local police and Frontier Corps North to ensure the safety of all participants. Tourists expressed their admiration for the valley’s breathtaking beauty and described the Chilam Joshi Festival as an unforgettable cultural experience.
