Heatwave is likely in most parts of the country from today to May 20. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature will be 5 to 7 degrees higher in South Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Upper Punjab, KP, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. The increase in temperature in the upper areas is likely to accelerate the rate of snow melting. Due to the intense heat, children, women and the elderly have been instructed to take precautionary measures.
