PDMA Issues Advisory to District Administrations

In anticipation of possible weather-related emergencies, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a formal advisory to all district administrations. Authorities have been directed to ensure the availability of necessary equipment and machinery to deal with any untoward incidents caused by the weather.

The advisory further emphasizes public safety, urging residents to stay away from electric poles, weak structures, old buildings, signboards, and billboards during the rain spell.

Farmers and Tourists Advised to Stay Alert

Farmers have been advised to adjust their agricultural activities according to the weather forecast. In upper sensitive regions, local populations and tourists are urged to take extra precautions and remain updated about evolving weather conditions.

The PDMA has specifically instructed district administrations to communicate key safety messages in local languages within sensitive districts to ensure clear understanding and preparedness.

Emergency Services on Standby

The Emergency Operation Center of PDMA is fully operational around the clock. All relevant departments have been directed to stay vigilant for road closures and ensure prompt restoration of connectivity. In case of road blockages, alternate routes must be provided without delay.

Tourist Safety Measures

Tourists are strongly advised to consult PDMA’s helpline before planning any trips to scenic areas, particularly during the expected wet weather conditions. Citizens are encouraged to report any emergency incidents by calling the PDMA’s toll-free helpline at 1700.
