Over two dozen uplift Projects announced for Peshawar in KP Budget 2025-26

PESHAWAR – The provincial budget for fiscal year 2025-26 includes eight new development projects for Peshawar, along with continued funding for ongoing schemes. Significant funds have been allocated for underpasses and link roads to address traffic congestion.

Major allocations include:

  • Rs 8 billion estimated for Ring Road underpasses; Rs 30 million released initially.

  • Rs 1 billion allocated for the Northern Bypass link road and water supply upgrade; Rs 100 million to be released this year.

  • Rs 300 million for the uplift program.

  • Rs 400 million to complete the Hayatabad Detour Road.

  • Rs 150 million for Beautification Phase II of Peshawar city.

  • Rs 300 million for canal enhancements.

  • Rs 50 million for feasibility and design of Hassan Khel Dam.

  • Rs 50 million for underpasses at University Road, Ramdas Chowk, and Lahori Chowk.

  • Rs 100 million for the feasibility of the Hazar Khwani–Bairon Sarki Link Road.

  • Rs 30 million for feasibility of Northern Bypass–Hayatabad Industrial Estate Link.

  • Rs 100 million (token money) for water networks, green spaces, and street lights.

  • Rs 100 million for the rehabilitation of Canal Road and its connection to the Ring Road.

  • Rs 24 million for Shahi Katha Drain rehabilitation.

  • Rs 46 million for Faqirabad Bridge.

  • Rs 250 million for improvement of the southern section of Ring Road.

  • Rs 200 million for WSSP extension.

  • Rs 43 million for marketplace beautification.

  • Rs 2.5 billion for Warsak Road and Nasir Bagh section.

  • Rs 201 million for tubewell restoration, lift irrigation, and solarization.

Let’s hope all these promises translate into on-ground reality.
