US and Iran Agree to Immediate Ceasefire, Invited for Talks in Islamabad

Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that Iran and the United States, along with their allies, have agreed to an immediate ceasefire, which will take effect across all regions, including Lebanon.

Welcoming the development, the prime minister expressed gratitude to the leadership of both countries and invited their delegations to visit Islamabad on April 10, 2026, for further negotiations aimed at reaching a comprehensive settlement of outstanding disputes.

In a message posted on the social media platform X, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said he was pleased to announce that Iran and the United States, together with their allies, had agreed to an immediate ceasefire across the region.

He described the decision as a wise step and appreciated the leadership of both countries for demonstrating remarkable insight and restraint while remaining constructively engaged in promoting peace and stability.

The prime minister added that Pakistan has invited the negotiating teams of the United States and Iran to Islamabad on Friday, April 10, to hold further talks and work toward a lasting resolution of disputes through dialogue.

Expressing optimism, he said the proposed “Islamabad Talks” could play a significant role in achieving sustainable peace in the region, adding that more positive developments are expected in the coming days.
