Khyber: Young footballer Kashif Shinwari from Landi Kotal in Khyber district has returned home after delivering an outstanding performance at the Street Child World Cup 2026 held in Mexico.
The Pakistan Street Child Football Team concluded its impressive international campaign by securing third position in the tournament, while team captain Muhammad Kashif Shinwari emerged as the tournament’s top scorer with 17 goals, winning the prestigious “Top Goal Scorer Award”.
In the semifinal, Pakistan faced Brazil and displayed remarkable spirit, teamwork, and determination. However, the team narrowly lost 2-1 after a tough contest. Brazil later defeated India in the final to win the Street Child World Cup title.
Notably, another football star from Landi Kotal, Tufail Shinwari, had previously achieved the same distinction, highlighting the growing football talent emerging from the region.
Pakistan’s inspiring journey in the tournament has been widely appreciated across the country, serving as a powerful example of hope, empowerment, and resilience.
