Peshawar: Institute of Kidney Diseases Peshawar has significantly expanded its kidney care services by introducing several advanced medical facilities aimed at improving treatment for patients across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the hospital administration, 30 new dialysis machines have been added to the institute, substantially increasing its capacity to provide timely dialysis services to patients suffering from kidney diseases.
The institute has also launched Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s first dedicated pediatric lithotripsy service, enabling children with kidney stones to receive modern, minimally invasive treatment within the province.
In another major development, the institute has begun performing kidney transplant surgeries on a daily basis. On some days, surgeons have successfully carried out two kidney transplants, marking a new milestone in the province’s healthcare history.
The hospital stated that its emergency services remain operational round the clock, offering specialized urology and nephrology care. A state-of-the-art microbiology laboratory has also been made fully operational.
The institute currently has a workforce of 54 doctors along with a large team of healthcare professionals. In addition, new Urology and Nephrology Intensive Care Units (ICUs) and three modern operating theatres have been established to strengthen specialized patient care.
According to the Media Cell of Hayatabad Medical Complex, these developments are transforming the Institute of Kidney Diseases Peshawar into the province’s most advanced and comprehensive center for kidney disease diagnosis, treatment, and transplantation.
