PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has delegated powers to all deputy commissioners in the province to order arrests and preventive detention under Section 3(1) of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance, 1960, in view of the prevailing law and order situation.

Under the order, deputy commissioners will be able to decide on preventive measures and detention after receiving cases from the respective district police officers.

Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has directed the deputy commissioners to exercise the delegated powers responsibly and strictly in accordance with the Constitution and the law, warning against any misuse of authority.
