9.7 million individuals from across Pakistan venturing into KP this year
Khyber Pukhtunkhwa has witnessed rise in domestic tourism this year.
In contrast to the previous year, there has been a decline in the number of foreign tourists this year, which is likely attributed to the global financial challenges that people are currently facing. Nevertheless, there has been an increase in the number of domestic tourists, as indicated by data gathered from the Police, Civil Administration, and District Officials.
During the current year, a total of 2,546 foreign tourists explored various tourist destinations throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, compared to the 2,947 foreign visitors in the previous year.
Furthermore, there has been a notable surge in the number of visitors from within the country, with 9.7 million individuals from all corners of Pakistan venturing into KP this year, in contrast to the 8,859,536 domestic tourists recorded in 2022. Both local and international tourists explored popular destinations such as Galiyat, Dir Upper, Malam Jabba, Chitral Upper and Lower, Kaghan, and beyond.
Caretaker Minister for Information, Tourism, and Culture, Feroz Jamal Shah Kakakhel, has announced significant efforts to enhance tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), highlighting the importance of education and conservation in the region. Speaking during a five-day educational tour organized for visually impaired students at Nathiagali, Minister Kakakhel outlined several key initiatives aimed at promoting tourism while ensuring the preservation of natural beauty and cultural heritage.
He said the residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have warmly embraced millions of tourists, both domestic and international, this year.
