A special anti-terrorism court in Rahimyar Khan has sentenced 22 accused to five years imprisonment and a fine of rupees four lac each whereas 62 people were acquitted in this case.
An anti-terrorism court in Rahimyar Khan on Wednesday handed down a verdict in the Bhong Mandir case. Twenty-two accused were sentenced to five years in prison for vandalism and attack on the Bhong temple. Apart from this, a fine of rupees four lac each imposed on the convicts.
The court in its judgment said that for non-payment of the fine, the accused would have to serve 11 months more imprisonment under other provisions. The fines will be credited to the affected temple’s account by the accused.
