Two more polio cases confirmed in North Waziristan

A report by the National Polio Laboratory confirmed the polio virus type one (WPV1) cases in both children.

According to the health department, 10 cases of polio have been reported in Pakistan this year and all the cases have been reported from the same district of North Waziristan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In both recent cases, one case was zero-dose, while the other child received OPV doses, but the cases are under investigation, and genetic analysis is awaited.
