KP offers special tour packages to boost tourism

Peshawar: Caretaker Minister for Information, Culture, and Tourism, Barrister Mian Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel, has revealed plans to boost tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) by introducing special tour packages for national and international tourists.

Speaking at an event marking the inauguration of the restoration work on Sethi House in historic Mahallah Sethiyan, Peshawar, the minister emphasized the rich cultural and historical heritage of KP.

Highlighting the unique cultural identity of each region in KP, Minister Kakakhel particularly emphasized the historical and cultural significance of Peshawar. He noted that Peshawar’s historical monuments serve as a testament to its glorious past, and the KP government is dedicated to preserving this heritage for future generations.

Furthermore, the minister highlighted the vast cultural and historical wealth of KP, with over 20,000 heritage sites, including more than 2,000 Buddha sites. He mentioned that the region’s Buddha statues, housed in the Peshawar Museum, attract tourists from around the world.

Minister Kakakhel also underscored the renowned hospitality and good manners ingrained in Pakhtun culture, making tourists feel like honored guests. He stated that this warm hospitality is a fundamental part of the Pakhtun identity on the global stage.

The minister’s presence as a special guest at the Pakhtun Culture Day event, organized by the KP Culture and Tourism Authority during the Sethi House visit, showcased various facets of Pakhtun culture, featuring poets presenting their work and traditional folk music performances. The event was attended by members of the media, government officials, and artists, shedding light on the cultural richness of KP and its potential as a tourist destination.
