Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated the Islamabad Metrobus service from Peshawar Morr to New Islamabad International Airport. The project will provide transport facilities to 50,000 citizens on a daily basis.
After assuming the office of Prime Minister, Shahbaz Sharif had given CDA a six-day deadline for the Peshawar-Mortani-Islamabad Airport section to run the metro bus. Work on this project was started in 2017.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who was present at the inauguration ceremony, expressed special thanks to China for providing buses and cooperation in CPEC. He also thanked the Turkish President and the people. The Prime Minister said that the project was stalled for 4 years, the original estimate was 16 billion, this gift was given by Nawaz Sharif in 2017 to the citizens of Islamabad and its vicinity which was to be operational in 2018 but the government changed.
