Over Rs3b Saudi grant for education in Azad Kashmir

The government of Saudi Arabia has announced to provide the latest educational equipment for the King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir University with a huge sum of Rs.3 billion 67 crore.

On Thursday, the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki, attended the signing ceremony between Saudi Fund for Development and Jamia Kashmir at Jammu and Kashmir House, Islamabad.

In his speech, the Saudi Ambassador called King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Teaching Hospital Mansehra and King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Campus Muzaffarabad as two of the most important projects of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir which were completed with the support of the Saudi Government Agency for Development.
He said that the completion of these two projects will provide education and modern health facilities to the people of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. The completion of this will further expand the relations between the two countries.
Addressing the ceremony, Jamia Kashmir Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Kaleem Abbasi said that the construction of King Abdullah Campus was done earlier with a huge amount of more than 7 billion rupees and now this most beautiful campus in the country is being built with financial assistance of more than 3 and a half billion rupees. The provision of modern educational facilities is an achievement of the Saudi government which the people of Azad Kashmir will never forget. He said that more than seven thousand students and three hundred faculty have benefited from the educational facilities provided by the Saudi government.
