Pak Army Rescuing the Nation in Natural Calamities

Aima Afzaal
Following traditions with patriotic spirit, the Pakistan Army has actively engaged in relief operations to evacuating people from flood-affected areas to safe zones. This devastated monsoon season has cost many lives, people lost property and basic infrastructure in several districts of Balochistan, Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and South Punjab.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), persistent rain caused severe flooding in Noshki. Hundreds of people were stuck after their Pak Army Rescuing the Nationhomes were washed away. ISPR also issue a statement saying Balochistan had received an “unprecedented 467% additional rainfall this season”.
Twenty-nine districts of Balochistan have been affected by recent rains and flash floods. The Pakistan Army has set up five medical camps in the flood-affected areas. Many people from different villages were relocated to safer locations and provided with cooked meals.
The ISPR said military teams had cleared areas in Gwadar and the coastal highway, which had been closed for traffic, and are now open for traffic.
Four helicopters are taking part in rescue operations, and they are also being used to carry food supplies and medical equipments.
Meanwhile, an Army drainage team from Karachi has also been deployed, ISPR said. ” The flooded grid station has been cleared by the drainage team.” Separately, they evacuated 300 people in Jamshoro, where a relief camp is now set up. Residents of Dadu and Khairpur were also provided with rations and medicine.
ISPR also said the Karakorum Highway and Jaglot-Skardu Road have reopened after the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) cleared multiple landslides from the road.
The connection to Ghizer district had been cut off by a flash flood, but food and medicine were provided to the local population by the Pakistan Army. ISPR also said Chitral and Swabi were heavily affected by the rain.
Pakistan Army is doing welfare and rescue projects for the well being of every citizen irrespective of their cast, religion, or political affiliation but unfortunately none of the politicians from any party took part in this noble cause. On almost every critical condition, we observe that no so-called politicians support welfare activities; rather, they are always focused on marketing their small welfare projects on a daily basis, but the Pakistan Army is the only institution that not only supports thegovernment authorities, but is also actively helps the people of Pakistan. The critics of the Pakistan Army always blame them for political engineering while politicians also drag them into political dirty games but they never show courtesy towards these welfare projects and relief operations.
Pak Army is the primary institution that believes it is a public-serving institution and proves itself competent and available in any calamity. They not only conduct rescue operations in flood-affected areas but also provide medical camps, food supplies, engineering support, and reconstruction of public infrastructure. There is proper provision of food, vaccination, shelter, evacuation and other numerous facilities have been given to the stranded people.
There are already established departments to counter calamity situations like disaster management authorities, monsoon emergency camps, water disposal teams, and divisional corporations etc. But all of us can see that soldiers of the Pakistan Army are on frontline by helping people and supporting the administrative authorities to complete their work. They do not only protect the borders of the country but also take part whenever or wherever they are needed the most inside the country.
