ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Sharif has announced provision of farmer package in which loans of 1800 billion rupees will be given to the farmers in this year.
Addressing a news conference, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan’s agricultural economy can move forward, if given attention.
He said Pakistan’s development depends on agricultural development and the coalition government consulted for a long time for agriculture.
The Prime Minister said that the flood has caused havoc destroying standing crops, In Sindh standing crop of dates on 40 lakh acres has been destroyed, and the rest of the provinces have also been devastated by the floods.
The Prime Minister said that the price of DAP will be 11 thousand 250 rupees per sack, the price has been reduced by 2500 rupees per sack. 50 billion rupees will be given as loans to the youth in rural areas and the federal and provincial governments will give 8 billion 20 million rupees to small farmers.
The Prime Minister said that he will ensure that this amount is provided to the farmers, the amount is 400 billion rupees more than last year.
