ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Iran’s President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi on Thursday inaugurated joint border market and 100 MW Polan-Gabd electricity transmission line project from Iran to Gwadar at the Mand-Pishin border crossing between Pakistan and Iran.
The two important projects of Pishin-Mand Joint Border Marketplace and Polan-Gabed Power Transmission Line will help, in turn, encourage formal trade, boost bilateral trade, prevent smuggling, feed entrepreneurship and provide different sectors in Pakistan including industry, agriculture and service with constant and economical electricity, improve power accessibility for the house consumers and reduce outages.
Improving welfare, upgrading livability, contributing to the sustainable development of the region, expanding people-to-people contacts, increasing connectivity, and enhancing geo-economy at the regional level are among the other benefits of these two projects.
