Azam Khan takes oath as KP caretaker chief minister

PESHAWAR: Former bureaucrat Mohammad Azam Khan took oath as caretaker chief minister of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in a ceremony held in Peshawar on Saturday.

KP Governor Haji Ghulam Ali administered oath to Khan.

Azam Khan’s name for the provincial caretaker role was finalised after consultation between outgoing chief minister Mahmood Khan and Leader of the Opposition Akram Khan Durrani.

Muhammad Azam Khan has served as the KP Minister for Finance, Planning & Development Department and Federal Secretary Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Resources and Federal Secretary Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Earlier, he held important positions in the KP government where he served as the Chief Secretary and Secretary of different ministries. Azam Khan holds Barrister-at-Law degree from  Lincoln’s Inn, London.
